ABOUT

MOLLIE'S SOCCER CAREER

Mollie’s talents on the pitch distinguished her at a young age, having been a member of the USA Youth National Teams since U14. She played on two youth FIFA World Cup Teams, including on the 2012 U20 World Cup Championship team where she was one of two field players to play every minute of the tournament. She was named National Gatorade Player of the Year and National Scholar Athlete of the Year her senior year at Durham Academy. Mollie played for Duke University where she graduated Phi Beta Kappa and summa cum laude. She made an immediate impact for Duke, a starting player from her freshmen year and leading the team to the NCAA finals in 2011 and to two NCAA Elite 8 appearances. At Duke, Mollie tallied 6429 minutes in 87 games, scored 17 goals and had 29 assists (third highest in school history).

Mollie was drafted in 2014 by the Boston Breakers and in her first season in the NWSL she has logged 1115 minutes (most of a rookie) while predominately starting as left defender, but also as left forward and right midfield. In her second professional season, Mollie was one of only two Breakers to play every minute of every match (1,800 minutes), which ranked tied for first in the MWSL. Mollie ended her third season 2 months early to attend physical therapy school, but during this short season Mollie was voted game MVP two times and scored her first professional goal. Mollie also played in the 2014 EUFA Champions League with Apollon FC Ladies, starting at left defender.

Mollie started private soccer training while she was in college. To date she has worked 400+ with male and female athletes from age 7-20, all skill levels, in North Carolina and Massachusetts. Mollie has helped train Division I college players including current players at UVA, Maryland, Duke and Villanova.  She is the highest ranked coach on CoachUp (private coaching platform) in the triangle area.

Mollie retired from professional soccer in 2016 to attend physical therapy school and pursue her passion for management, prevention and treatment of athletic injuries and private soccer training. Mollie currently sees patients at her own physical therapy clinic, Peak Rehab, where she specializes in the treatment of soccer players and runners. She is certified in Sportmetrics Injury Prevention Trainings and has her FIFA Diploma in Football Medicine.
